Every network environment is different, so we are looking for an experienced, proactive, and confident Product Manager with communications or wireless networking industry experience to help us understand customer needs and lead the development of our products in the space communications sector.

Our 5G NR Layer 1 gNB for Low Earth Orbit delivers exceptional power efficiency and bandwidth for deployment on board satellites. These technologies are state-of-the-art, so we're looking for an experienced Product Manager to lead the interpretation of the latest wireless standards, develop market requirements, and then translate them into product requirements that give our customers the best possible network performance

Key Responsibilities

  • To take ownership of products and manage full product lifecycle, including product definition, performance requirements, features, release dates and maintenance
  • To bridge between engineering and sales teams to ensure alignment and aid in securing design wins
  • To engage with customers and standards organisations to develop market requirements
  • Ensuring market requirements are translated effectively into engineering product requirements
  • To contribute to the development of our technical roadmap and strategy in the light of these requirements
  • To lead on the architecture of new products and features, as well as of new releases of existing products
  • Monitor technical schedules and manage feature trade-offs where necessary against the business plan
  • To act as an "internal customer" for the development and delivery of the products, in order to drive quality assurance
  • Develop collateral including presentations, white papers and demonstrations for products in the context of customer applications
  • Analyse the competitive landscape with benchmarks and product positioning messaging
  • Support marketing communications with outbound product planning, press and analyst briefings, product launches, conference presentations and technology demonstrations
  • To develop and apply processes and policies for the management of the above

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential requirements:

  • Broad understanding of commercial and technical drivers and challenges, developed through industry experience, including some experience related to the communications or networking industry
  • Familiar with 3GPP wireless standards and specifications - or willing to invest time in learning these
  • University degree (or equivalent qualification) ideally in Electronic Engineering or Computer Science
  • Broad experience with exposure to technical sales and marketing
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle and product development processes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel to meet with customers and attend exhibitions

Desirable requirements:

  • Strong engineering background in digital communications ideally including an understanding of the semiconductor and FPGA landscape
  • Knowledge of electronic systems design, including hardware and software especially within a communications or networking environment
  • Familiarity with SoC, FPGA design
  • Exposure to telecommunications or networking standards
  • Product management experience in the communications industry
  • Experience in writing business plans and commercial justifications
  • Experience of customer interaction of a technical nature, ideally in a field applications engineering role, technical support role or through engineering development work
