Working Pattern:
We are looking to recruit to the following roles:
Frontline Team
4 Full time 36 hours per week and 1 part-time 18 hours per week - these posts will be frontline in libraries but will include some outreach activities. All roles are permanent.
Each post will have a set working pattern and will include alternate Saturdays. Libraries are currently open 10-6 Monday to Friday and 9-5 Saturday. All positions will require working full days
Location: Staff will be required to travel to any of Croydon's Libraries and work in the Archives Research Room to ensure they are open to advertised hours.
Outreach Team
2 Full time 36 hours per week - these posts will be part of our new outreach team delivering services in community venues. Both roles are permanent.
These posts will require a flexible approach to working hours and locations although it is anticipated most hours will be across the library core hours of 10-6 Monday to Friday and 9-5 Saturday
Location: Staff will be required to deliver services in community venues across the borough as well as support frontline staff in libraries
Salary: Grade 4 - £29,763 to £30,630(pro rata for 18hrs)
About the Role: From April 2025, Croydon Libraries will be operating a new service model. To deliver this we are looking for people who have a passion for customer service and for working as part of a team delivering Croydon's library services directly to our customers. This will include supporting the delivery of activities and events and assisting customers with accessing online information and other resources.
You will need to be
• Customer focused with excellent communication skills
• Able to demonstrate an ability to supervise staff
• Interested in libraries and in serving Croydon's diverse communities
• A good team worker across all 9 of Croydon's libraries and as part of the outreach programme
• Enthusiastic in your approach to engagement with customers of all ages
