  • Work closely with the sales team to identify promotional opportunities across the front and backlist
  • Be the primary point of contact internally for their authors and allocated campaigns, and manage author-facing discussions as required
  • Demonstrate an ability to build strong long-term relationships with key publishing media as well as authors
  • Establish a solid network of bookseller and industry-side contacts, and network at events
  • Plan and manage events for authors, launches and showcases.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong track record of delivering successful adult fiction and non-fiction publicity campaigns, ideally upmarket long-lead fiction and news-agenda led non-fiction
  • Experience managing budgets, reporting on KPIs and a proven ability to adapt publicity strategies to the key audiences
  • Excellent communication skills, and an ability to work effectively and collaboratively with internal team members and external stakeholders
  • Ability to identify key components to create a successful campaign, deliver according to sales targets, and prioritise effectively
  • Skilled in author development and developing long-term strategies to build and grow consumer awareness
  • Success at this level requires a high level of execution in terms of meeting deadlines, targets, and quality expectations
  • Ability to operate with a solid level of autonomy and prioritise effectively
  • Consistently delivers on campaigns to meet or exceed targets
  • Pro-active in raising potential issues, working with management to identify solutions and opportunities to do better
