Freelance Tour Director - UK/Ireland

Education First (EF) is the world's largest international education company, offering global travel, study abroad, language-learning, cultural exchange and academic programs.
We are looking for freelance Tour Directors to work with:
- EF GO Ahead Tours (goaheadtours.com): offers guided group tours for adults to 175 destinations worldwide.
The role
As a freelance Tour Director with EF, you will generally lead tours of 7 to 17 days in length (with the majority being around 10 days). Every EF Tour Director must have a love for travel and a passion for sharing their experience and knowledge with others. No two days are ever the same and there is never a dull moment on tour.
Working out of The EF London Regional Office you would lead North American groups on tours mainly around the UK and Ireland (plus sometimes to other major European destinations) in Spring (March and/or April) and Summer (June and/or July). Please note, in your first year, your first tour may not be until the summer months.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Managing tour logistics
- Connecting with travellers
- Liaising with suppliers
- Facilitating the inclusion of every person on your tour
- Handling tour finances
- Leading fun and experiential activities
- Ensuring the safety of all your travellers
- Representing EF while on tour
Requirements:
- Fluent written & spoken English
- Based in the UK or Ireland (preferred but not essential)
- Able to travel freely throughout the UK and European Union
- Available to attend a 2/3-day 'In-person Introduction to EF'
- Available to take a tour of up to 10 days in June
- Organizational skills & good attention to detail
- A passion for travel & education
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Resilience & a 'nothing-is-impossible' attitude
- Remain calm under pressure & able to use your own initiative
- Flexible to adapt to ever changing situations
- Comfortable with technology & using a smartphone
Good to have:
- Destination knowledge of the UK & Ireland
- Knowledge of North American culture
- A second European language
- Experience leading groups or as a group leader
