We're the charity who look after and bring to life 2,000 miles of waterways across England and Wales, because we believe that life is better by water. Every role across the Trust plays it's part in transforming our canals and rivers into spaces where local people want to spend time and feel better, bringing wellbeing benefits to millions.

As a Works Inspector you will work with a team of Engineers and Technical administrators who are responsible for ensuring that the Trust's interests are protected by providing 'front line' contact with external promoters of third party schemes. The team recovers fees and charges which go to support the work of the Trust, and handles approximately 300 different schemes per year offering a completely varied work load.

The team links with other teams within the Trust on behalf of the developer to find the necessary solutions to undertake works that will, where possible, enhance the waterway and environment. The successful applicant will gain engineering knowledge and negotiation skills whilst working on a variety of schemes. This makes the workload completely variable which adds to the attraction of working in the team.
