We are looking for volunteers to join our existing team, to help us out with completing regular reservoir inspections. There will be a shadowing and training period, where you will be paired with volunteers or colleagues that are already carrying out the inspections, before being able to complete these by yourself.
Harthill requires inspecting 3 times a week on a Monday, Wednesday, fridays, Pebley requires 2 days. We are looking for volunteers that are available on one of these days per week and can spare around 4 hours for the inspection on a regular basis
Activities include:
• Monitoring the integrity of the dam, crest and toe of embankments
• Identifying changes to the condition of structures including wave and other damage to riprap bank protection
• Identifying new leaks
• Monitoring the state of vegetation
• Identifying evidence of the presence of Blue Green Algae
• Checking the serviceability of culverts and inlet/outlets
• Monitoring the level of water in the reservoir
• Reporting on the above via a smart phone app
