Waterside Leader (Wellbeing Walk Leader Rochdale)

Do you have a passion for getting outdoors, or increasing opportunities for others? Perhaps you want to improve your own mental health and learn new skills while facilitating that for your community?

Join us and become a Waterside Leader to help facilitate exciting opportunities in Rochdale. We are looking for keen and enthusiastic people who want to explore the waterways near them and introduce others. You’ll help people to enjoy the network like never before and in turn will help to achieve our goals of keeping canals alive.

Walking in the great outdoors can make you feel better both physically and mentally. Our 2,000 miles of canal towpaths provide largely flat, traffic-free walking routes, taking you from the inner city right into the heart of the countryside.

Our aim is to give people the confidence to get out walking and enjoying the outdoors in a safe way to improve their physical and mental wellbeing. To do this we need people to share their enthusiasm for the benefits of walking with others in their community by leading walks in your local area.

You'll work with colleagues and local organisations in your area to deliver a range of accessible walks that enable people to bring activity into their lives and feel the benefits. We want everyone to have access to short, friendly group walks within easy reach of Canal & River Trust waterways to encourage everyone to discover the benefits.

This is a perfect opportunity for those with a keen interest in the outdoors, wants to break down barriers for a specific group, or someone who is looking to build their skills as a leader. Find out more about what opportunities await you as Waterside Leader by applying today.
