We have an exciting opportunity for a team manager to join Adult Social Care in the Acute, Urgent Care and Prisons teams for Lancashire

This temporary role is based on a 5 day working pattern, Monday - Friday, covering the post holders secondment up to April 2024.

As the team manager you will manage and oversee the social care team providing management support and leadership to senior social workers, social workers and social care support officers.

You will be leading your teams in working alongside health and social care colleagues in assessing and facilitating safe and timely discharges from both hospital and custodial settings. Using discharge to assess pathways in acute services with a commitment to promoting independence and positive outcomes to our citizens of Lancashire through the council's vision.

We're looking for people who are able to display the following skills and experience:

  • Someone who can contribute to effective team working and service development and to work with senior management to identify improvements that could be introduced to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the service.
  • Someone who can build and sustain professional relationships working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners involved in service provision.
  • Someone who can work under pressure, manage their time flexibly and intelligently under multiple demands.

Collaborative - You will work alongside our exemplary teams and external partners, including the NHS/LSCFT, driving agendas and work together towards the continued development of the service - this area is highly supportive and focused upon operating as one team, which will ultimately produce the best results with the right communication and skill set - working in this environment is highly pressurised therefore having an abundance of energy and motivation is imperative in order to succeed - in an ever changing area, strategic thinking is a highly desirable attribute so you must be flexible and have the ability to adapt swiftly.

You must be registered (SWE) to be appointed as a Social Worker or have applied to register with the Social Care Council. For Social Worker/Care Manager positions where non social worker qualifications are accepted, registration is not required, and you will be appointed as a Care Manager.
