We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help gather valuable feedback from visitors at the National Waterways Museum, Gloucester. Your conversations will give visitors a chance to share what they love, what they’d like to see changed, and how we can make the National Waterways Museum, Gloucester even more welcoming.
Your duties will involve:
-
Observing and noting the behaviours and general profile of visitors as they explore the site
-
Approaching visitors in a friendly, engaging, and welcoming manner
-
Inviting visitors to take part in a short survey, clearly explaining its purpose
-
Using a tablet to read out survey questions and accurately record visitor responses
-
Thanking visitors for their time and wishing them a pleasant onward journey
-
Following guidance on health, safety, and data privacy
-
Reporting any issues or feedback to your designated contact at Canal & River Trust
This is a flexible volunteering opportunity that suits people of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you can spare a few hours a week or just a couple of sessions a month, your contribution will make a real difference. You’ll need to be confident using a tablet so you can record responses, but no other previous knowledge or experience is needed. We’ll provide a comprehensive training session before you start, so you’ll be confident and ready to gather feedback.
So, if you enjoy talking to people and want to play a part in improving National Waterways Museum, Gloucester, we’d love to hear from you!
Why we want you
Our Supporter volunteers ensure that the day to day nuts and bolts of the waterways happen be that monitoring activities on the towpath or that the running of teams and the necessary processes happen in the background. This can be anything from working with our Social Media Team to assisting with location and filming for productions. Our Supporting Volunteers also support our teams within our offices and even on the Towpath conducting audits.
