Purpose of the role
1. Contact members of the public & engage with them around the work of the charity in order to recruit long term supporters .
2. You will do this by either or both of the following: a. Visiting residential properties within a specified area, working in a circuit several times in the day to try and reach as many of the residents of the area as possible. b. Working with a display or banner in retail locations & events as booked by the company.
3. To record the responses on an tablet provided, using our canvassing software (if in use).
4. To accurately enter using the tablet and the sales form and submit the details of any person who agrees to become a regular supporter and ensure that they have all the required information about their commitment.
5. To always act as an ambassador for the charity and always create a positive impression of the charity regardless of the response.
6. To work within the compliance framework for the industry and company policies, notably the Code of Professional Conduct & the Sensitivity & Vulnerable Persons Policy.
7. To always act in a professional & ethical way especially in regard to people who may be vulnerable.
8. To travel for up to 1 hour to work & be prepared to work in variable weather conditions.
9. To demonstrate determination & resilience to keep working through periods without regular sales.
10. To work in compliance with company Health & Safety , Personnel & other policies.
11. To work in a respectful, trusting & open way with company managers and other fundraisers.
12. To attend training & meetings as required from time to time.
