Solution Architect

Description

We're looking for a Solution Architect to join us.

Reporting into the Head of Solution Architecture, you'll define, design, oversee and deliver the solution architecture for the implementation of new and changes to existing systems for NextGen COO strategic projects. You'll keep up to date with changes in the external environment in order to proactively contribute to the development and governance of IT strategy in the area of solution architecture (inclusive of application, integration, data/information, cloud/infrastructure and security) and associated development tools.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you'll be doing:

• Delivering the solution architecture end-to-end including application, integration, data/information, cloud/infrastructure and security by working with functional, technical, and enterprise architects, wider CIO disciplines and business customers
• Designing appropriate project solutions to ensure that the solutions delivered are aligned to the customer & IT strategy and meet their needs
• Managing key stakeholder expectations to ensure they are aligned with the target architecture and roadmap
• Communicating solution designs, options, risks and financial estimation to ensure all stakeholders are well-informed and up to date on all matters
• Researching market trends and identifying upcoming solutions, conducting POC testing and reporting POC results to ensure solutions remain competitive against the market trends
• Providing guidance on implementation of new technology solutions and technology-related risks to ensure an accurate implementation plan and estimation of financial costs is outlined
Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we're able to effectively manage interest. Therefore, if you're interested in joining us at AXA, please don't hesitate to apply.

What you'll bring:

• Previous IT experience in a large commercial organisation in a consultancy or technical design role
• In depth understanding of non-functional requirements and operational/service delivery characteristics
• Strong problem solving and influencing skills
• Good knowledge of technology options and associated vendors
• Experience of collaboration and re-use of solutions in global organisations
• Comprehensive understanding of systems life cycles, methodologies and system integration
• Track record of working on a wide range of projects up to and including very large-scale programmes
• Strong commercial and business knowledge; ability to understand and integrate business and IT strategies
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

What we offer:

At AXA UK, we're appreciative of the people who work for us and our rewards package is reviewed regularly to reflect that. You can expect to receive:
