ServiceNow Developer

Osborne Clarke have an exciting opportunity for a ServiceNow Developer to join their growing IT department on a permanent basis.

The role is responsible for the design, configuration, integration and administration of the ServiceNow platform to meet the IT service management and business process automation needs of the organisation. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, configuring ServiceNow modules, and ensuring the platform is optimised for efficient service delivery and process automation..

This position can be based out of either our Bristol or London offices with a hybrid working arrangement.

Responsibilities

ServiceNow Configuration & platform management: Manage the ServiceNow platform to meet the organisation's ITSM and business process requirements. This includes designing and implementing workflows, forms, user interfaces

Incident, Problem, and Change Management: Design and configure ServiceNow modules for incident management, problem management, and change management, ensuring alignment with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) best practices

Service Catalogue and Request Management: Develop and maintain the service catalogue, service offerings, and request management processes within ServiceNow, ensuring user-friendly self-service options and efficient request fulfilment

Service Level Agreement (SLA) Management: Work with service owners and gather SLA response times, and escalation rules within ServiceNow to help drive SLA attainment

Configuration Management Database (CMDB): Maintain the CMDB within ServiceNow, ensuring accurate and up-to-date configuration item (CI) records and relationships

Reporting and Analytics: Develop and generate reports, dashboards, and analytics within ServiceNow as per requirements

Integration and Automation: Integrate ServiceNow with other systems and applications, leveraging APIs and integration tools, to automate processes, data exchange, and system interactions

Platform Upgrades and Enhancements: Stay updated on new ServiceNow releases, features, and enhancements. Plan and execute platform upgrades and enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations

We are looking for:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Strong experience in configuring the ServiceNow platform and keeping it out of the box as much as possible, including modules such as Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Service Catalogue, and CMDB
  • In-depth knowledge of ITSM processes and ITIL best practices, with the ability to align ServiceNow configurations with these frameworks
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow administration, including user management, access controls, platform configuration settings and system maintenance
  • Experience in designing and implementing workflows, forms, UI policies, business rules, and automation scripts within ServiceNow
  • Proficiency in configuring ServiceNow modules, workflows, forms, UI policies, business rules, and automation scripts to meet specific business requirements.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow integration capabilities, MID Server, Web technologies including REST, SOAP and JSON, and integration tools, to integrate ServiceNow with other systems and applications.
  • Strong scripting skills, such as JavaScript or GlideScript, PowerShell etc, to develop customisations, automation scripts, and business rules within ServiceNow.
  • ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA) and/or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) ITSM, are required. Additionally the ServiceNow Certified Application Developer qualification is desirable
  • ServiceNow Security: Understanding of ServiceNow security principles and best practices, including user roles and permissions, access controls, and data protection
