The role of Senior Web Developer is important to us.

This is a full stack developer role in our inhouse Digital Team, working with a tech stack that includes Laravel and Next.js.

The team can offer a roadmap of exciting projects for you to be involved in. Alongside your colleagues in an agile environment, you'll be working on multiple enterprise websites and associated web portals using the latest technologies and working methods.

This is an office-based position located at Radius Campus in Crewe, Cheshire, complete with onsite gym, café and breakout areas.

Your responsibilities will include...

• Developing and implementing web applications using Next.js and related front-end technologies, such as React, HTML, CSS, Tailwind CSS, and Typescript
• Developing and implementing APIs using Test Driven Development in Laravel framework
• Writing clean, maintainable, and well-structured code, adhering to best practices and industry standards for Next.js and Laravel development
• Optimizing web applications for maximum performance, compatibility, and responsiveness across various platforms and devices
• Staying up to date with the latest advancements in Next.js and Laravel, identifying opportunities to enhance existing applications or create new ones
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX and product managers, to gather and refine requirements, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and needs
• Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including design documents, user guides, and API specifications, to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Knowledge of security best practices with regards to developing and maintaining WordPress themes and plugins

What do we expect of you?

• Strong knowledge and experience in PHP web development
• Proficient in Laravel framework and its ecosystem
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts
• Ability to create RESTful APIs with Laravel
• Understanding of unit testing and integration testing in Laravel applications
• Knowledge of Laravel's built-in security features and web security best practices
• Proven experience developing web applications using Next.js and React
• Proficient in front-end web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries
• You have strong knowledge of web development best practices, including responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimisation
• You are familiar with version control systems, such as Git
• You have strong knowledge of agile software development methodologies.
• You have excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative web solutions
• You possess a proactive mindset, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
