Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Stock and Systems Manager working across the EDF contract, with sites based in Bridgwater, Severn Beach, Avonmouth and Brockworth. This is a key role that is central to the successful delivery of a prestigious contract where Wincanton provide warehousing and distribution for deliveries into the Hinkley Point C build programme that is playing a key role in Helping Britain Achieve Net Zero.

Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, the Senior Stock and Inventory Manager is responsible for all process improvement and stock control metrics, while acting as an independent reviewer of stock management processes on site. Ensures KPIs and general performance meets or exceeds the contracted requirements.

Salary £50,000 - £60,000 p.a DOE.

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Monday to Friday role.

Applicants must have advanced Warehouse Management System experience.

  • Accountable for the delivery of all stock integrity and the management of related KPI's.
  • Develop operational teams' best practice and standardisation of all control processes.
  • Build strong working relationships with all key stakeholders to ensure first class operational delivery in all operational areas, with a focus on stock integrity, repeatability, and accuracy.
  • Develop and execute Customer improvement plans that will enable greater advocacy of Wincanton's stock management principles.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all stock related performance issues, which could result in customer complaints or claims against Wincanton.
  • Motivate and manage a team of stock and system administrators to achieve, and where possible, exceed all performance objectives.
  • Assist in training, developing and appraising the Stock & Systems Team members.
  • Liaising with support teams regularly to diagnose and support issues with the warehouse management system.
  • Production of management reports for both the customer and site management team which includes analysing and collation of data to monitor site KPI's.
  • Deliver a culture of efficiency and continuous improvement by utilising the most appropriate methodology on a consistent basis.
  • Enable audit governance to ensure adherence to regulatory body standards and customer standards.
  • Ability to create detailed analysis that identify route cause and resolution through Root Cause and Corrective Action principles.
  • Ensure that a best-in-class HSE performance is achieved within all operational activities, the sites and that a culture of safety is embedded in everything we do, driving safety as the priority.
  • Communicating and liaising with other departments to ensure a smooth & effective customer experience.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders across the wider Wincanton business.

What will you bring?

  • Advanced experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Knowledge of Manhattan or Asset Suite 9, ideal but not essential.
  • Team management experience able to lead and motivate a team with effective communication skills at all levels.
  • A strong leader with experience of managing a small team.
  • Data analysis skills to support the right decisions.
  • Confidence to challenge others on their methods of working and managing process adherence.
  • Good commercial awareness and a commitment to providing customers with the highest standards of service.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate at all levels.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate with and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the client's organisation.
  • Experience in delivering client focused solutions.
  • Logistics/Warehouse Industry experience would be advantageous.

Successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain security clearance prior to commencing employment, this includes being able to provide a minimum of 3 years consecutive UK employment/education & residential history.
