Job Description
Our Customer is a leading force in the renewable energy sector, dedicated to powering homes and businesses with 100% clean energy. Through cutting-edge technology, we manage renewable resources like wind and solar, utilizing innovative data solutions to ensure energy availability when demand peaks.
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our fast-paced team. The successful candidate will contribute directly to the tools and applications that support our Power Desk operations, delivering advanced quality assurance and systems testing processes that ensure the highest standards for our power trading and renewable assets management applications.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about solving complex problems and thriving in an agile environment. As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for designing automated test scripts, creating a suite of test packs, and providing comprehensive test coverage, leveraging your expertise to optimize and ensure robust software performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Planning and Estimation: Support product backlog management and iteration planning, provide accurate estimates, and advise on testing approaches.
- Test Strategy Development: Define and implement test approaches for various products and projects, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Risk Management: Identify, escalate, and resolve risks, issues, and blockages impacting test progress.
- Quality Assurance: Deliver thoroughly tested software meeting customer requirements.
- Review and Refinement: Actively participate in acceptance criteria review, identifying errors, omissions, or ambiguities early in the process.
- Data Reporting: Provide relevant data to derive testing progress reports and quality metrics.
- Agile Collaboration: Participate in all Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, demos, retrospectives, and refinement sessions.
- Test Execution: Prepare environments, execute scripts, and document outcomes, comparing actual vs. expected results.
- Data Management: Coordinate with Product teams to identify data requirements early in the development cycle, ensuring alignment with continuous integration and deployment processes.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years in end-to-end software testing lifecycle, including test planning, execution, and closure.
- Cloud & Data Expertise: Familiarity with testing cloud and data solutions, including integration, regression, load, and performance testing.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience in designing and executing software testing, including functional, end-to-end systems integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Automation Skills: Proven ability in coding, debugging, and maintaining automated tests and frameworks.
- Local presence in London required minimum 3 times a week.
