Job Description

The Real Estate Consulting (REC) team is rapidly growing within the business as we expand our portfolio across the public and private sectors. The REC team comprises of experts in Asset Management, Business Case development, Benefits Management, Corporate Real Estate and Change management who deliver on the world's largest programmes and projects.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to support with our Defence and Healthcare sector projects to play a critical role in providing benefits management, business case and real estate strategies to our key clients.

Reporting to the benefits management Lead, you will lead and support on various, often concurrent projects and have the ability to manage your own workload and work both independently and part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Some of the standout projects we have delivered in recent months include for full portfolio benefits management function set-up, and management, for the Defence Estate Optimisation Portfolio and also for the Government & NHS England's New Hospital Programme. We also produce various evidence-based funding applications and business cases to support regeneration and service improvements, and new and innovative solutions for maximizing the efficiency of our Clients property portfolios.

Your Background

You must be able to demonstrate one or more of the below:

  • Experience in Benefits Management in a major programme or portfolio environment
  • Experience working on built environment projects as a senior consultant or project manager
  • Consultative background in Strategic Estates or Business Case authoring
  • Experience on transformational programmes and projects in the public or private sectors, with particular focus on defence, healthcare or government

Essential Functions

  • A clear understanding of Benefits, how they are derived through the Business Case, their importance and an understanding of how these relate from individual initiative into a central program unction.
  • A person who can meet with client leadership and other client representatives; conduct interviews; run workshops; interpret and analyse benefits data; gather, analyse and summarise data in easy to understand presentations.
  • The ability to analyse different dimensions of the client organisation's data and translate critical business/work processes into baselines, targets and KPIs.
  • Manage commissions to meet fee objectives, organise and manage resources, and be responsible for invoicing.
  • Implement regular communications to clients and the business regarding project progress.
  • Meet and interface with clients to develop options, finalise project concepts and prepare final documents for client approval.
  • In conjunction with the wider Advisory team help to develop a thought leadership strategy considering options and channels to develop and promote the Benefits Management consulting offer to the market.
  • Help support in identification of Benefits Management and wider Real Estate consulting opportunities.
  • Contributing towards the preparation of bid proposals.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Benefits within the project outcomes and Business Case context
  • Understanding of Benefits Management at a Programme or Portfolio level including governance and reporting arrangements
  • Excellent strategic planning and project management understanding.
  • Excellent time management skills when working on multiple projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service acumen and interpersonal relationship skills throughout all job duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to adapt emerging best practices and industry innovations to client needs.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior client leaders.
  • Ability to analyse data, think critically, draw conclusions and present solutions in simple summarized ways. Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively partner and deliver results in a matrix management environment.
  • Ability to adapt best practices and industry innovations to client needs.
  • Project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to be effective while working independently and within a team environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years working experience in either Benefits Management or Business Case compilation/Defence major initiatives/ Business Analysis.
  • Degree qualified preferable but not mandatory
  • One or more of: PRINCE 2, MSP, MRICS, APM, Better Business Cases, other professional qualifications
  • Experience of project management or real estate consulting projects.
  • Experience using technology and benefits/real estate data.
  • Experienced in working in and delivering benefits/real estate solutions and strategies, within a corporate environment.
  • Experience of engaging with stakeholders within complex environments.
