Senior Pricing Manager

AXA Commercial are looking for an experienced pricing leader to drive the delivery of strategic transformation, portfolio management and pricing plans across all Complex products.

Reporting to the Commercial Pricing Director, you'll lead the team in delivery of these key transformation projects as well as a focus on innovation and ensuring data driven pricing is delivered in line with strategic objectives.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you'll be doing:

• Shape and deliver pricing strategy, supporting the development of the transformation project by focusing on the next generation of platforms, data, and modelling systems.
• Lead the team to deliver price change recommendations through continuous improvement in predictive models to support AXA Commercial's financial targets.
• Ensure a high-quality delivery of data and pricing tasks and that they are completed to appropriate standards and timelines, with a focus on driving profitable growth.
• Explore and evaluate the use of external data to enhance internal data insights by driving best practices in collaboration with colleagues and third parties to influence a statistically robust approach to purchasing data.
• Lead the Commercial Pricing team, coaching and developing direct reports, ensuring priorities are aligned with strategic goals and the impact of deliverables is well understood.
• Champion innovation in new processes and methods, including machine learning and open-source coding languages, to support the expanding use of external data and the enhanced insights available.
• Act as a trusted leader to resolve issues arising and bring to resolution within remit of responsibility.

What you'll bring:

• Qualified Actuary with experience of delivering a pricing strategy or transformation project within a financially regulated business.
• Ability to translate of a range of technical and complex issues and communicate to more non-technical colleagues.
• Able to respond well to unfamiliar problems and resolve ambiguity with simple solutions.
• Strategic thinker, and able to translate strategy into a delivery plan.
• Outstanding communication and influencing skills.
• Proven track record in people development skills and evidence of effective performance management, strong development and coaching skills.
• Strong stakeholder management experience.
• Solution focused, with a strong focus on delivery, and desire for continuous improvement.
• Advanced knowledge of EMBlem/Radar/SAS/Python or equivalent.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
