We have an exciting opportunity for a transport/freight focused Senior Operations Manager at Halewood, working within our Manufacturing Logistics freight sector.

We make promises to our customers, and we'll make promises to you too. The key responsibilities in this role include;
- Maximise the performance of the operation by directing daily, weekly, and monthly activities providing leadership, motivation, training, and development of the workforce, Identifying, and implementing action plans to reduce skill gaps, executing against the customer requirements, operational performance.
- Site Compliance management including HSE, Assets and Site Improvement plans, submission of weekly, monthly, and annual business metrics, KPI reporting and project delivery, facilitation, and delivery of workforce engagement in collaboration with peer group to make DHL a great place to work.
- Ensuring resource plans are in place to meet operational requirements whilst setting challenging targets to consistently improve areas of responsibility.
- Oversee new hire orientation and onboarding process, HR, centre payroll processing, engagement activities, employee issues/grievances/appeals, performance and talent management, employee exit/offboarding, HR policies and governance.
- Manages/Develops/updates and implements local operational procedures (SOP) to prevent service failures and improve standards.
- Responsible for the ongoing compliance of the safety committee to prevent incidents and accidents that may cause loss; create and maintain a safety conscious work environment (HSMS & SIP Management).

- Previous management experience in Logistics/Transport operation, within a unionised environment. - Essential
- Transport experience within an automotive environment - Desirable
- Contract Management experience and experience within Multi Site operations.
- CPC Qualification - National /International.
- Previous compliance and understanding within a transport network operation.
- Ability to influence, communicate, presentation skills and ability to drive standards within the operation.
