Senior Lecturer in Nursing Practice Learning

An opportunity has arisen within the School of Nursing and Midwifery for a registered nurse to join our highly committed pre-registration nursing team as a Senior Lecturer for Practice Learning (Nursing). The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, visionary, and keen to shape the quality of nurse education. In addition, they will have experience of contributing to the quality assurance of practice learning for nursing students and have expert knowledge and understanding of the Nursing and Midwifery Council professional standards. Working in partnership with central university services and placement learning partners is an essential aspect of this role.

There will be an expectation that the Senior Lecturer Practice Learning (Nursing) will contribute towards curriculum development. The successful candidate will also be expected alongside the simulation team, to ensure that quality assurance systems and the preparation of Practice Assessors required for practice learning are embedded within the simulated placements strategy for the school. .

The successful applicant will also be expected to contribute to research outputs and knowledge transfer activities linked to practice learning and other appropriate areas.

Nursing programmes are delivered in a number of sites, including Preston, Burnley and Westlakes. The post will be based at Preston but there may be a requirement on occasion to visit the other locations.

Applicants will have a good honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and a professional teaching qualification or membership of the HE Academy. A Masters or PhD /professional doctorate is desirable.
