Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a HR Generalist to join the Recruitment team at The Royal Marsden. RM Medicines is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust developed with the aim of delivering an outstanding and quality service to our patients

You will provide an effective and efficient comprehensive administration service for Royal Marsden Medicines (RM Medicines) including the full employee cycle from recruitment, payroll and pension administration. You will develop positive relations with managers and staff within RM Medicines to provide relevant first line HR related advice and support. You will have experience of working in recruitment and/or payroll with the ability to work to use initiative and have a willingness to learn. You will be a team player and have excellent attention to detail.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide an effective and efficient comprehensive administration service for Royal Marsden Medicines (RM Medicines) including the full employee cycle from recruitment, payroll provision, pension provision and general administration.
  • Ensuring that the service provided meets agreed quality standards.
  • Develop positive relations with managers and staff within RM Medicines to provide relevant HR related advice and support.

  • Recruitment and onboarding process for RM Medicines staff: including approval to recruit, advertising posts, support recruiting managers on shortlisting and interviewing process, issue conditional/unconditional offers, pre-employment checks and issue contracts.
  • To undertake pre-employment checks, meeting and liaising with new joiners, and being the point of contact throughout the recruitment process.
  • Monitoring of fixed term contracts, professional registrations, DBS and work visas.
  • Maintain RM Medicines HR database with up to date employee information.
  • Transactional HR changes for RM Medicines staff.
  • Regular pay related updates to RM Medicines monthly payroll changes tracker to ensure this is included in the monthly pay run, including new joiners, pay changes, leavers etc. Review and check payroll accuracy on the RM Medicines monthly payroll changes tracker / HR database.
