An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Financial Accounts team for a full time Band 8b Senior Financial Accountant role.
We are seeking individual who is self-motivated, pro-active and with excellent planning and organisational skills. The post holder is required to have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The aim of the role is to lead on preparation of accounts for the Group, advising on all aspects of financial accounting. The post holder will also have a senior role in the capital reporting, influence and advise on the capital performance, VAT accounting, Financial Charges in order to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, accuracy of the reporting.
Main duties of the job
To prepare month end and annual accounts for the Trust's subsidiary companies. To ensure that the annual accounts and other statutory returns are produced in an accurate and timely way and that they represent a true and fair view of the subsidiaries. To provide all the information for external audit in relation to subsidiaries, liaise with external auditors on any queries related to annual accounts.
To report to Board of subsidiary companies.
To provide forecasts for the subsidiary companies. The post holder will be responsible for cash flow management within subsidiary companies.
To prepare monthly capital and year end reporting, including variance analysis, and reconcile all control code accounts related to capital for both parent and subsidiary companies. The post holder will be responsible for capital forecasts, liaising with project managers.
To update Fixed Asset Register with Additions/Disposals/Revaluation and reconcile to General Ledger on quarterly basis.
To promote a professional approach ensuring the financial controls are always followed. To ensure that the companies are compliant with legislative requirements and deadlines.

Essential criteria
- CCAB qualified
- Master's degree or equivalent experience
- Post qualified experience in large organisation
- Knowledge of Accounting Standards and NHS Manual of Accounts
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of CPD

- Understanding of NHS regime
- Experience of producing accounts in a large organisation
- Capital Accounting experience
- Minimum 2 years at a senior level
- Experience of developing plans and forecasts
