Senior Finance Business Partner

Join AXA as a Senior Finance Business Partner and play a pivotal role in driving the financial and commercial success of our Commercial business. You'll have a small team of direct reports where you'll lead the delivery of insightful financial analysis, influence decision-making at senior levels, and support sustainable growth through robust financial planning and strategic initiatives. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with key stakeholders, manage complex financial metrics, and contribute to AXA's ambitious Transformation agenda, ensuring our financial performance aligns with our long-term strategic goals.

You'll develop and refine financial processes, monitor the execution of business plans, and provide forward-looking insights that shape business outcomes. You will lead diverse finance teams, evaluate investment opportunities, and influence business leadership to understand results and variances. Your expertise will support strategic investments, optimise financial metrics, and ensure robust deal structuring, all while fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance within your teams.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead collaboration with key stakeholders to review performance, inform decisions, and influence senior leadership at AXA Commercial.
• Partner with trading teams to optimise Gross Written Premium, Combined Operating Ratio, and other key financial metrics.
• Develop and enhance comprehensive financial planning processes aligned with business strategies, incorporating advanced forecasting tools and risk management.
• Track and monitor the execution of business plans and initiatives, ensuring commitments are met.
• Provide forward-looking financial insights to manage performance gaps and support strategic decision-making.
• Manage expense budgets, identify efficiencies, and support strategic investments to maximize business value.
• Cultivate and lead high-performing, diverse finance teams through development, mentoring, and fostering collaboration.
• Evaluate, model, and structure a portfolio of deals, leading negotiations to secure favourable terms aligned with strategic and financial objectives.
What you'll bring:

• ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualification.
• Excellent understanding of the financial dynamics of the general insurance business, preferably gained working in Commercial Lines.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills, able to inspire confidence and motivate alongside the ability to persuade, influence and convince others.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• First class analytical skills.
• Specialist understanding of accounting and control for insurance along with an awareness of accountancy practices
• Experience of motivating and managing a team, preferably in a matrix organisation including a Successful record of delivering and leading teams through change.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
