About the role

We have a fantastic new opportunity for an experienced Senior Designer to design and create fashion products to appeal to our target customer, increase sales and reduce level of returns.

This is a hybird role working in the office at least 2 days each week with the remainder at home. There will also be a requirement to travel in the UK and overseas.

Role Responsibilities

  • Design to the required brief and curate and develop commercial ranges in line with our target customer and brand DNA.
  • Work with the design team to pull together seasonal trends and colour palettes.
  • Conduct research, comp shops, catwalk analysis and trend prediction to keep up to date with current and seasonal trends.
  • Compile seasonal key shapes to present during strategy meetings.
  • Participate in range reviews with the buyers.
  • Work closely with the buying team on product development and evolution of the range.
  • Work closely with the print designer to ensure the ranges have the correct print balance.
  • Work closely with QA when briefing out tech packs to factories.
  • Constantly review ranges and amend accordingly in line with company trade data and in season trends.
  • Work with Merchandiser on option count to plan and flow for the season.
  • Build relationships with key suppliers and attend regular supplier meetings.
  • Participate in relevant Far East and European factory visits for seasonal product development.
  • Participate in relevant European shopping trips for inspiration.
  • Manage the Assistant Designer and their development, conducting regular 1:1's . Provides coaching, advice and guidance so they can work effectively and deliver on their annual objectives.
  • Work closely with Head of Design in delivering the seasonal company strategies.

About you

  • Fashion design degree or equivalent
  • Proven experience of designing in a Retail and/or Mail Order environment, in order to meet the Company's targets
  • Proficient in Photoshop/and or illustrator.
  • High level range planning skills
  • Broad related product experience
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise effectively whilst working at pace
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Flexible and positive attitude and approach to work
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as directed.
  • An enthusiastic, tenacious and proactive individual.
  • High attention to detail at all times.
  • Organized, structured in approach and willing to take ownership of results
  • Proven influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work through rapid change
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Able to commute to Bradford City Centre
