Description
Are you passionate about leveraging data science and artificial intelligence to make a real difference? AXA Health is looking for a talented Data Scientist to join our Data Science team. You'll utilise both traditional and generative AI techniques to uncover practical insights from a wide range of internal and external datasets. Your work will directly support our mission to drive operational efficiencies, optimise costs, boost revenue and market share, and ensure we stay ahead in regulatory and legal compliance. If you're eager to be part of a dynamic team within a forward-thinking organisation, this could be an exciting opportunity for you!
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.
What you'll be doing:
• Analyse a broad spectrum of structured and unstructured data sourced from both internal and external origins.
• Contribute to projects at different stages, from initial ideation and proof of concept through to finalisation, deployment, and release.
• Collaborate within cross-disciplinary, agile teams comprising data scientists, business analysts, IT specialists, and engineers to deliver value through data science, AI, and advanced analytics.
• Utilise advanced programming techniques in Python and apply suitable analytics, data science, and AI methods, both traditional and generative, to extract meaningful business insights.
• Present and communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across various seniority levels.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data and model risk governance processes throughout project lifecycle.
• Engage in ad hoc projects as required, providing expertise and support where needed.
Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we're able to effectively manage interest. Therefore, if you're interested in joining us at AXA, please don't hesitate to apply.
What you'll bring:
• Master's degree or equivalent in a highly numerical field such as data science, AI, mathematics, statistics, or computer science.
• Proven experience applying supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning methods to solve complex business problems in a data science or AI environment.
• Experience developing and deploying generative AI projects, including LLMs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG techniques, and AI agents.
• Strong knowledge of explainable AI methods and best practices in MLOps and LLMOps.
• Advanced programming skills in Python and SQL, with a solid understanding of data visualisation techniques.
• Familiarity with data and AI model risk governance and the ability to communicate insights clearly, focusing on trust and relevance.
• Excellent team collaboration skills, with any knowledge of the financial and insurance sectors is advantageous.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
