Our Development and Planning Team comprises 70 people operating out of office in London, the wider southeast, Bristol, Sheffield and Edinburgh.
Our specialist teams advise on every aspect of real estate development and planning, combining local expertise with expert knowledge. We draw upon the experience and history of BNP Paribas Real Estate and Strutt & parker. In providing support to landowners, developers, investment funds and local authorities to unlock development opportunities across all asset types. With nationwide coverage, we have a strong track record in extracting value from complex projects.
The Role
You will be joining a frontline development and planning business which operates within a much larger commercial and residential property adviser. We are looking for highly motivates, intelligent and experienced individuals with a proven track record in providing excellent client care gained in a private sector, consultancy environment, or equivalent.
You will be joining a small London Planning Team which sits within the London Development and Planning Team. It is an opportunity to gain considerable experience as well as client exposure, making a real difference to projects and business targets. There is significant potential for career advancement.
The candidate will be expected to undertake a pipeline of planning consultancy instructions working closely with the central London investment and development teams. There will be opportunities to work with our well-known affordable housing team, our valuation group, residential agency colleagues and our building surveying teams, and candidates should be comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
We have a wide range of clients and we work across most London boroughs. We advise on p rojects across the development spectrum from smaller scale schemes to city centre, or large scale regeneration and masterplan proposals. Development management experience is essential to advise client on development potential, when either seeking to acquire or dispose of sites or buildings.
Key attributes for the position are:
- MRTPI or RICS equivalent qualified with a proven academic and career record to date demonstrating regular progression, the ability to manage client at all levels, high standards of written work and first rate client service;
- Excellent commercial acumen, networking skills and the ability to identify key issues relating to a problem and innovative solutions for addressing them;
- The ability to create and maintain effective relationship at all levels inside and outside of the business, and translate these into opportunities;
- Good management style with the ability to get on with people across the business but also have experience and a desire to motivate and manage junior staff; and
- To use our internal knowledge and information networks to respond to client needs and drive commercial opportunities.
