We have a great opportunity for a Risk & ComplianceOfficer to join our Risk & Compliance team. This is a permanent position,based in the Bristol office on a hybrid working pattern with three days in theoffice.

What you'll do

Reporting to the Head of Risk & Compliance, the mainpurpose of this role is to support the monitoring, management, review, adviceand reporting on compliance and/or risk-related issues across the firm-both dayto day and via specific Risk & Compliance and firmwide projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Helping to design, implement, maintain and operate effective policies and processes to manage OC's exposure to risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Participating in Risk & Compliance and other firm-wide projects and initiatives as required.
  • Internal audit and ongoing monitoring of the firm-wide Quality Management System to satisfy our ISO 9001 accreditation.
  • Preparing and delivering clear reporting on key regulatory and compliance outcomes.
  • Keeping up to date with professional, legal and best-practice developments in legal service quality, regulatory compliance and risk management, and sharing relevant insights.
  • Identifying risk and compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation.
  • Helping to manage the compliance learning management system and monitoring firm-wide completion of compliance training.
  • Receiving, recording and managing regulatory breaches across OC, providing timely advice to fee earners and escalating where appropriate.
  • Providing professional support and guidance to fee earners and Business Services, developing strong internal client relationships to enable delivery on key objectives.
  • Contributing to the continuous review and improvement of processes and promoting a culture of mutual understanding through effective communication.

What we're looking for

You will bring a genuine interest in compliance andregulatory work, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicateclearly and professionally at all levels.

Also required:

  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to work under pressure with conflicting deadlines, juggling a varied workload.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence to act on your own initiative, take ownership of projects/issues, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • A fluid and adaptable approach, comfortable operating in a constantly evolving, challenging environment.
  • Curious and inquisitive mindset with the confidence to challenge and improve what you see.
  • Strong analytical capability, including data manipulation and presentation.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (particularly Excel) and knowledge of PowerBI.
