We have a great opportunity for a Research Analyst to join our Knowledge team.
In this role, you will support the Senior Research Analyst to produce client, sector, competitor, market and strategic information and analysis to help Osborne Clarke win, develop and retain business.
This is a full time role based in our Bristol office. However, 4 days will be considered.
The Team
Osborne Clarke's Knowledge function is designed to support the firm's strategic and operational goals by ensuring that our lawyers and business services teams have access to high-quality, relevant, and timely information. This function is integral to enhancing our legal expertise, improving client service, and driving innovation across the firm.
What you'll do
- Create strategic research: developing in-depth, forward-thinking research on industry trends and emerging technologies, in support of Osborne Clarke's strategic campaigns, e.g. around the future of food, transitioning to green hydrogen, succeeding with AI.
- Write tailored company profiles: supporting bids and other business opportunities by crafting succinct, customised company profiles and snapshots.
- Deliver sector and market overviews and analysis: informing strategic decision-making and business planning.
- Identify potential prospects: using desktop research and specialised databases to uncover new business prospects and opportunities.
- Produce competitor research and benchmarking: identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
- Support management of our client current awareness service: using Manzama to deliver tailored new searches to users across the business
- Support effective promotion of Business Research firm-wide: promoting our service across our UK and other National Businesses.
- Carry out ad hoc business research and analysis: supporting various projects and initiatives across the firm.
- Ensure efficient research operations: any other ancillary duties that may be required to ensure the efficient creation and operation of the Business Research service.
What we're looking for
- Strong commercial interest and awareness, keen to understand the firm's strategic and business priorities.
- Strong research skills, with understanding of context and intended impact of research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to present research in a clear, concise, and decision-ready format.
- Skilled in evaluating the trustworthiness of information, including its authenticity, accuracy, currency, value, and bias.
- Excellent time management skills, able to work within tight deadlines and manage multiple concurrent demands.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Confident building good working relationships and managing stakeholders effectively across all levels and offices.
- Self-motivated and proactive, keen to develop existing skill base and learn new skills.
- Proficient in analysing large sets of data, extracting actionable insights, and presenting these insights in a decision-ready manner.
- Proficient in using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and open to exploring other mediums for sharing knowledge, evaluating the best format for the context.
- Familiar with Gen AI, and its potential and applied use in research and analysis.
- Proficient in using research databases.
