They are looking for a driven and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team, focusing on expanding their market presence across the South West region.

Role Overview: As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales and fostering strong customer relationships within the South West region. You will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, presenting their specialist forklift truck solutions, and closing deals to achieve sales targets. You will also take control of some current accounts maintaining and building upon the relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to grow the customer base and increase sales of specialist forklift trucks in the South West region.
  • Identify potential clients through market research, networking, and direct outreach, focusing on industries such as warehousing, logistics, and manufacturing.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing customers, understanding their unique needs and offering tailored forklift solutions.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features, benefits, and advantages of the forklift trucks.
  • Negotiate and close sales deals, ensuring that both the company and the client achieve their objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, technical support, and service departments, to ensure seamless product delivery and after-sales support.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regional market conditions to adapt sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Provide regular sales reports and market feedback to the National Sales Director highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for growth.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in sales and business development, preferably within the forklift truck or material handling equipment sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of the South West region's market and customer landscape.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a passion for achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel extensively across the South West region.
