We have a fantastic opportunity for Senior Associate or Associate Director to join our Real Estate team in our London office, focussing on Development work.

The practice

Osborne Clarke LLP have an outstanding reputation in real estate due to the quality and breadth of our client base and the value and complexity of the work we undertake. We have made a long-term investment in our real estate practice both in the UK and internationally, offering extensive expertise across numerous asset classes.

We focus on three key areas of Living, Logistics and Regeneration. Our Living Practice takes in this asset class in its broadest sense and includes build to rent, student accommodation, retirement living, regeneration, residential and mixed use development. We act for key clients in this field such as Greystar, British Land, M&G, Ghelamco, Packaged Living, Barratt London, Bouygues, Taylor Wimpey and Related Argent. In commercial development, we have a market leading logistics practice, acting for GLP, St Modwen, Mirastar, Panattoni and Patrizia to name a few. We regularly act on some of the most innovative and high profile development projects in the country. Our team approach, industry knowledge and excellent communication enable us to deliver a full and thorough service to our clients operating across our UK offices in Bristol, London and Reading. The practice is supplemented by strong real estate litigation, construction, planning, tax and plots / site set up departments all of which form part of a powerhouse development practice.

Our clients

We act for a wide range of clients ranging from institutional clients to private equity. Our list of clients is impressive and includes M&G, PGIM, British Land, Barratt, Vistry, Crest, Argent, ICG, GLP, DTZIM, Greystar, Ghelamco, Patrizia, Mirastar, Taylor Wimpey, U&I and St Modwen to name a few.

The team

The real estate department is made up of over 100 lawyers in total including 23 Partners in the UK. The team is also made up of 4 Legal Directors,16 Associate Directors, 20 Senior Associates, 23 Associates, 2 Consultants, 10 Paralegals, 7 Trainee Solicitors and 3 Solicitor Apprentices.

Technical skills and experience

We are looking to appoint one dedicated lawyer with deep experience in Development matters and a desire to focus on this area as they build their career. We have a large number of development transactions to service across the practice. This includes both in our Living sector, such as build to rent developments, forward fundings, purpose built student accommodation and senior living and also in the Logistics sector where we act on some of the most high profile developments in the market. Candidates will ideally have previous experience of acting on matters involving developments across multiple asset classes but we are not necessarily seeking someone who is overly specialised in any one asset class. Due to the growth of the business, nature of the work and structure of the team we are looking to appoint a Senior Associate or Associate Director in this area, however we are willing to consider candidates with more or less experience.
