We have a newopportunity for an Associate to join our Real Estate Cornerstone team andsupport our team in delivering commercial real estate work in the telecomsindustry. You will be aligned to the Cornerstone team and will be working witha wide range of fee earners across this team. It is a supportive, well organised and cohesive team. You will also have the opportunity to do workoutside of the Cornerstone team.

We are lookingto grow our team supporting Cornerstone's business objectives.

This is apermanent, full-time role based in our Bristol office, although occasionaltravel to our offices in Reading in London, and to client offices, may berequired in the longer term.

The practice

Our real estateteam overall has a strong reputation for providing commercial advice to clientson everything from investment acquisitions and disposals and portfolio andasset management, forward funding and forward commitments, to complex andchallenging telecoms related work. Our team advises across all our clients'entire investment patterns including retail, telecoms, student accommodation,logistics and energy.

We aredistinguished from our competitors by our market leading practices in a numberof prominent specialist areas. These include student accommodation and build torent where we are recognised national leaders; energy - in particular majorrenewables projects run by leading names in the sector such as Foresight andOxford Capital Partners; telecoms - where we undertake some of highest profilework for telecom operators; student housing, where we have advised onsignificant deals for Global Student Accommodation Limited and Campus LivingVillages; and retail, where our recent track record includes on-going work forMarks & Spencer. In addition, we are rapidly establishing a reputation as aleader in acting for UK and overseas institutions, as major investors in UKreal estate.

The Role

Providing awide range of services to the Real Estate Cornerstone Team including but notexclusively:

  • Preparing and quality controlling reports on title;
  • Drafting agreements, leases, licences, surrenders and deeds of variation;
  • Supervising a team of paralegals;
  • Negotiating and completing documentation;
  • Working as part of a wider team on projects involving Multi Skilled visits (MSVs);
  • Attending internal and external team / progress update calls and meetings; and
  • Contributing to internal and external training.

TheCandidate

The successfulcandidate will:

  • Have evidence of experience across a wide range of Real Estate matters in a similar role;
  • Be prepared to work in a highly supportive team environment;
  • Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills;
  • Be technically minded, enjoy variety, have the ability to prioritise and successfully manage multiple matters.
  • Show an enthusiasm for and the ability to present technical legal issues in a clear, approachable and professional way;
  • Demonstrate a client-orientated approach, both internally and externally; the ability to think laterally and to develop ideas in relation to business opportunities and training;
  • Show an appreciation of fee earner needs and constraints; and the ability to assist in the development of less experienced team members;
  • Be commercially aware;
  • Be a self-starter, enthusiastic, resourceful and driven to continually develop knowledge and skills in a challenging and supportive environment.
  • Be pro-active and motivated with excellent organisational skills; and an excellent team player.
  • Be flexible and pragmatic with a problem solving approach.

The Team

The BristolReal Estate department is made up of 61 fee-earners overall including 11Partners, 2 Legal Directors, 9 Associate Directors, 8 Senior Associate, 15Associates, 1 Affordable Housing Solicitor, 3 Trainee Solicitors, 2 SolicitorApprentices, 5 Senior Paralegals, 5 Paralegals.
