Job overview:
We're seeking a dynamic Proof of Concept Manager to drive the development of innovative data solutions that deliver quick business value. You'll oversee a team of Proof of Concept (PoC) Developers within an agile, collaborative environment, working alongside Data Modellers, Engineers, Analysts, and stakeholders to create prototypes that demonstrate feasibility and impact. Join us to shape data-driven solutions that make a real difference, in a team committed to continuous learning and innovation.
Key responsibilities:
• Line manage, mentor, and support PoC Developers to foster skill development, best practices, and continuous improvement.
• Engage with stakeholders and technical teams to understand business challenges and identify opportunities for rapid, data-driven solutions.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept models using tools such as Databricks to demonstrate potential value against clearly defined success criteria.
• Contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of PoC risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with GDPR, information security, and data governance policies.
• Establish a framework for best practices, including development standards, tool guidance, and evaluation methods to ensure quality throughout the PoC lifecycle.
• Review prototypes for performance, usability, and business impact, documenting key findings and recommendations for further development.
• Collaborate with Business Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Solution Architects to ensure prototypes are scalable and ready for transition into full data products that meet enterprise standards.
• Present solutions to stakeholders, clearly articulating benefits, limitations, and next steps for scaling successful PoCs, while gathering feedback for ongoing refinement.

We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.
Your skills & experience:
• Proven experience in rapid prototyping and PoC development within data or analytics projects.
• Strong technical skills with tools such as Python, SQL, Databricks, PowerBI, or similar data platforms.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering value quickly and efficiently.
• Enthusiasm for exploring new technologies and transforming ideas into actionable prototypes.
• Ability to handle multiple initiatives, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
