Project Manager - Payments

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a talented Project Manager to manage and deliver a wide range of projects in the Cards Change Delivery Team. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, running and delivering projects, from initiation to close, which meet agreed business and technical objectives within time, cost and quality standards.

Given the planned level of IT transformation, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to bring their skills to help build and shape the new functions and ways-of-working into the future!

In this role, you will:

  • Maintain an appropriate project governance structure and effective communication processes for all assigned projects in Cards Change Delivery.
  • Manage project issues, risks, dependencies and change control within agreed processes, and update Business Case accordingly, to ensure delivery of project results within the agreed scope.
  • Lead the project budgets on behalf of the Executive Sponsor/Cards Change Delivery Lead, monitoring and reporting the costs against the delivered and realised benefits.
  • Monitor the overall project progress, resolving issues, initiating corrective action and referring major issues upwards to the Programme Manager / Cards Change Delivery Lead as appropriate.
  • Where appropriate, maintain oversight and approval on the user acceptance testing deliverables - approach, scope, sign-off criteria etc. and ensure completion of Operational Acceptance Testing activities.
  • Handle project deliverables and ensure that all project deliverables are to the appropriate levels of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the project plan and coherent with the overall project objectives and related business strategy.
  • Maintain & monitor standards, controls, processes and solutions, to minimise business and IT risk.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivering, wide ranging projects in a timely manner with In-depth knowledge of project processes, software development cycle, compliance, regulatory and implementation standards. You will have the ability to engage with, and leverage, partners to deliver the project and have a strong familiarity with quality management concepts and their application.

Experience with any of the following will help you to stand out:

  • Good working knowledge of the cards' business within financial services.
  • Project Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE II)
  • Testing Process and Methodologies

Essential Qualifications

  • Relevant third level qualification / certification

Enterprise Services is responsible for end-to-end delivery of change across Bank of Ireland's services. This function works closely with Bank of Ireland collaborators to shape and deliver change and enables the Bank to evolve its delivery capability to suit best how it serves Bank of Ireland customers.

This is a hybrid role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin. Travel will be required for in-person collaboration -exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
