Product Test Manager

The Product Test Manager will support the Technical function through testing products to set and/or validate product performance and assure that products meet applicable industry specifications. Testing of products is also undertaken for the continuous improvement of existing ranges. The Product Test Manager will plan, allocate resource and manage all test activities including the design, implementation and overseeing of test processes and procedures to fulfil the above requirement. Projects will vary from testing individual components to full product ranges.
The role will be based at our Brierley Hill site, but may require occasional work of one or more days at other locations around the UK.
Key responsibilities:
- Management of test area including forward planning of test program
- Testing of products to capture their performance criteria.
- Accurately record technical data, test arrangements and result into technical file.
- Design, procure and set up of test equipment
- Working to time constraints.
- Working with Group Health and Safety and Quality.
Required experience/skills/qualifications:
- Proven skills, experience and/or a formal qualification in an engineering related discipline.
- Hand on experience of developing, maintain and document suitable test methods and processes whilst employing industry best practice.
- Understanding of health and safety and associated risk assessments.
- IT literate and Microsoft Office suite
- Good understanding of engineering product drawings and details
- Experience in using a variety of mechanical, hydraulic and electronic data capture equipment.
Desirable:
- Previous experience of managing a test area preferably within the storage products industry.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes in rolling and press form thin gauge steel.
- CAD literate
- Knowledge of storage equipment & SEMA, BS EN, ERF industry standards.
