We are seeking a skilled and motivated Product Owner to join our IT Software Engineering (ITSE) team. This role is crucial in driving the product and feature development, fostering innovation, with a strong focus on advancing AI development, and addressing the broader technological needs of the firm. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional stakeholder management skills, enabling them to build and nurture relationships across all levels of our law firm.
This role will be based in our Bristol office offering hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
Product Management
- Lead discovery and requirements gathering for new work requests and ideas.
- Generate user stories and oversee end-to-end product delivery, from ideation through to deployment.
- Act as the voice of the client/end user in the product development process, ensuring their needs and perspectives are central.
- Create and manage product development roadmaps.
- Act as a Product Owner for a wide range of products and features, spanning across various tech stacks (AI, HighQ, Microsoft Power Platform in the future).
- Oversee UX/UI workload and priorities, ensuring they align with other development initiatives.
- Provide stakeholder support for the Osborne Clarke Solutions (OCS) team on any build centre related queries.
- Conduct demos and produce training materials following development releases.
- Review and feedback on test scripts.
- Review and address development team questions on a daily basis.
- Play a key role in the UAT process, conducting thorough second round testing for all tickets, going beyond the traditional light-touch UAT practices.
- Collaborate closely with international teams (specifically the German team), across OCS, AI.
Execution Management
- Lead in executing sprints efficiently, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
- Develop and implement processes to optimise resource allocation and sprint delivery timelines.
- Monitor sprint progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
- Facilitate regular sprint meetings and reviews, ensuring clear communication and alignment among team members.
Service Setup for Innovation and AI Development
- Design and support the establishment of a comprehensive service framework that enables innovation and AI initiatives within the firm to utilise the IT Software Engineering resources.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritise opportunities for ITSE to appropriately support AI and technology-driven projects.
- Ensure the ITSE team is equipped with the necessary tools and resources to support innovation and AI projects.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders for your role.
- Act as a liaison between the ITSE team and other departments, ensuring clear communication of project goals and expectations.
- Gather and analyse stakeholder feedback to continuously improve service delivery and sprint outcomes.
Agile Methodology Implementation
- Champion participation in agile practices within the ITSE team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to enhance team collaboration and productivity.
- Track and report on key performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of agile practices and identify areas for improvement.
Innovation Enablement
- Play a central role in the firm's innovation initiatives, identifying emerging themes and trends within ITSE work.
- Allocate consultancy time within the resource model for ITSE skill sets to understand problems before they reach the build phase.
- Encourage a culture of creativity and experimentation within the ITSE team, promoting the exploration of new ideas and approaches.
