What is the opportunity?

This is an outstanding opportunity to set the IT and Digital agenda for the Bank of Ireland To modernise, simplify and ensure that business and technology outcomes are achieved and Bank of Ireland's growth ambitions are supported!

The PrincipalArchitect IT Strategy and Innovationwill engage senior business, change and IT stakeholders and will work closely with other enterprise architects in a dynamic well-established and supportive EA team.

In this Role, you will

The PrincipalArchitect IT Strategy and Innovationwill provide leadership in the area of Enterprise IT Strategy,Digital Strategy, the associated roadmaps, execution of roadmaps, alignment of strategy with investment planning and Innovation.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior business and technology leaders to define and align IT strategy with the bank's overall business, digital and technology objectives.

The candidate will bring significant experience and deep subject matter expertise from a background in IT Consulting,IT Leadership, Digitalleadership andInnovation.

  • Define the overall Enterprise IT Strategy, aligning with business strategy
  • Define and track the overall IT Strategic plan execution, including metrics/OKRs to demonstrate progress of the IT Strategy
  • Liaise with business stakeholders and other enterprise architects to understand broad business, IT objectives
  • Liaise with change colleagues to prioritise and track the impact of transformation programmes on delivering the IT and Digital strategy
  • Lead senior stakeholder engagement, collaboration and communication on IT strategy
  • Write papers on technology and digital topics and trends for executive and board colleagues
  • Establish an Innovation capability

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in IT Strategy,Digital Strategy, and Innovationwithin banking and financial services, with excellent consultation and presentation skills.
  • Deep understanding of modern technology stacks, including cloud computing, microservices architecture, API driven architectures, data architectures and associated technology trends.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and teamwork skills, with a proven track record of working in multi-functional teams.

What will make you stand out?

Excellent knowledge of the financial services industry and regulatory environment in which it operates.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Strategy or a related field.

The Enterprise Architecture (EA) team is passionate about modernising and simplifying the technology of Bank of Ireland to enable the best experiences for customer and colleagues.

The team is hardworking, knowledgeable, with skills in IT Architecture, IT Consulting, and deep technology understanding. These skills are used to build IT Strategies, Roadmaps, and Architectures to that drive the transformation of the Bank's technology.
