Are you an experienced nurse? AXA Health's Support Team is a medical information helpline, made up of nurses, midwives, counsellors and pharmacists, providing expert help to our customers whatever their healthcare needs. When our customers have a health question, it's good to know there's someone to talk things through, day or night. Whatever the need, our medical professionals are here to put minds at ease, so they are not worrying a minute more than they must.
You'll provide expert medical support and guidance. Part of an experienced and established team, you'll have the opportunity to be part of the team's evolution and improve services for our customers. You'll be provided with all the necessary equipment and training to carry out the role. There'll be regular opportunities for professional updating for your ongoing registration requirements.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work most shifts from home but will need to work from our Tunbridge Wells office once every 4 weeks. Additional ad-hoc office days may be required. When working from home, you'll need a quiet, private space to work from where you won't be overheard.
Working Hours & Shift Pattern:
You'll work 37.5 hours per week, across a 4-week rota. This will include evenings, nights and weekends. You'll work 2 weekends every 4 weeks. This rota will remain the same so you can plan around your hours. You'll receive a shift allowance.
Induction & Training:
There's a comprehensive paid induction for this role. For the initial 2 weeks, you'll be in our Tunbridge Wells office (Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 5.00pm), with the rest of your induction done remotely.
What you'll be doing:
• Provide empathetic guidance and support on a broad range of health-related issues to our members and their families.
• Maintain our helplines supporting our members and their families covering a variety of shifts including evenings, nights and weekends.
• Support members through a variety of media including telephone (both inbound and outbound calls), email queries, text messaging and live chat.
• Act as a clinical expert and role model, to provide specialist knowledge and assistance. Build and maintain strong relationships.
• Take an active interest in your team, department and the wider business targets and how you can personally contribute to achieve these.
• Take ownership and continuously develop your professional skills, including enhancement of your clinical knowledge

What you'll bring:
• Registered General Nurse (RN).
• Current registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Nursing diploma or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in nursing.
• Additional qualification in midwifery would be beneficial.
• Substantive post registration clinical or insurance experience.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Effective relationship management skills.
• IT and social media skills.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
