An exciting opportunity has arisen at the world-renowned National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery for a Neuropsychiatric Liaison Nurse and Deputy Ward Manager role to join our multi-disciplinary team. This dual role offers the chance to make significant impact on patient care, combining clinical expertise in neuropsychiatric nursing with leadership responsibilities. The successful candidate will support the management of the ward while providing specialist neuropsychiatric care to patient across the hospital.

Main duties of the job
Provision of expert advice in the management of patients with neuropsychiatric disorders across the division and nursing support of the divisional psychiatric liaison service.
Acts as a leader in the absence of the Ward Manager, ensuring the ward runs efficiently, addressing any issues, and maintaining high-quality care.

Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Knowledge and Qualifications
- Evidence of post- registration education.
Desirable criteria
- RN-Adult, NMC registered or experience in a physical healthcare setting.
- Post-registration Psychiatric Liaison Course
- Teaching / Mentorship / Preceptorship training and experience.
- Degree or Masters appropriate to the role, or working towards same.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of acute Liaison assessment.
- Undertaking psychiatric Risk Assessment
Desirable criteria
- Ward management experience at Band 6 or above.
- Neuropsychiatry Liaison experience
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Able to produce reports to refer to other agencies.
- Able to produce reports for MHRT
