Marketing Assistant

Due to internal progression, we have an exciting and new opportunity to join Osborne Clarke as a Marketing Assistant. This is an ideal role for someone who is looking to develop a career in this area and as such, previous marketing experience is not essential. This is a permanent role that will be based out of our Bristol office on a hybrid working basis.

As a Marketing Assistant you'll provide support to the firm's practice group marketing and business development team in a variety of tasks such as assisting with sector event programmes, building reports, supporting on the development of bids documents and assisting with marketing collateral.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone to demonstrate a real interest in marketing and business development alongside the desire to move into a varied and challenging role. More specifically you'll need to demonstrate:

  • The ability to give clear instructions and understand and act upon appropriate instructions from senior management, clarifying incomplete/unclear instructions before acting
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to build good relationships at all levels
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Good written and verbal communications skills, including a succinct and effective writing style
  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Self-motivated/proactive/assertive
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel

What you'll do

Following the appropriate training and support that will be provided, the key responsibilities of the role will be as follows:

Provide support to the firm's practice group marketing team, including:

  • Assisting in the implementation of internal/external marketing initiatives and the promotion of the firm's service line expertise.
  • Supporting the Business Development Managers and BD Executives on the development of credentials and bid documents.
  • Updating credentials trackers and experience database.
  • Building various reports from the firm's systems and sharing these across the BD and Marketing teams.
  • Updating communications plans/schedules and assisting in executing those plans, including briefing specialist marketing teams, external agencies and partners, generating focusedmailing lists using the firm's CRM system, preparing internal and external mailings using Vuture and tracking activity.
  • Assisting with the implementation of service line event programmes.
  • Uploading marketing content to Osborne Clarke's external website.
  • Uploading marketing content to Osborne Clarke's intranet.
  • Assisting with the approval of invoices and tracking of expenditure against budget.
  • Assisting with the preparation of internally and externally produced marketing collateral.

Providing administrative support to the legal directories submission process:

  • Uploading entries to Chambers UK and Legal 500
  • Repurposing and transferring relevant content from Chambers UK forms in preparation for Legal 500 entries
  • Scheduling legal directory interviews with relevant partners
  • Chasing content and working to strict deadlines
  • Repurposing content, uploading credentials to oc.com and updating partner profiles on oc.com
  • Collating and maintaining sight of directory submission referees

Digital marketing team support:

  • Assisting with email marketing campaigns for the wider sales and marketing team, distributing emails to well targeted lists.
  • Assisting with the upload of digital content to OC websites.

General

  • Contribute to the continuous review and improvement of processes in the team
  • Be an ambassador for the firm in all direct and indirect contact with our clients and potential clients
  • Promote a culture of mutual understanding, through effective communication both within sales and marketing and legal teams
