Description
We have an exciting full time permanent opportunity in SpLD/Dyslexia in the School of Education at Bath Spa University for candidates with an active AMBDA and APC.

About the Role
Within this role you will teach and further develop modules within our established SpLD/Dyslexia and inclusion program in the School of Education. This role involves supporting students in completing the Professional Practice component required for British Dyslexia Association qualifications, contributing to curriculum development and pedagogical innovation, and engaging in research and scholarly activities that enhance the student experience.
You will participate in internal and external networks, build relationships with industry bodies, and contribute to international curriculum design and student recruitment. Responsibilities also include promoting e-learning, ensuring compliance with accreditationstandards, and supporting the School's operational and promotional activities.
About You
You willhave active Associate Membership of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA) and an active Assessment Practising Certificate (APC). You will also have up to date specialist knowledge in SpLD/Dyslexia and inclusion and have a higher degree and a doctorate or be working towards a doctorate qualification.
Successful experience of teaching in SpLD/Dyslexia ideally at postgraduate level and experience mentoring students for AMBDA is required, along with a proven track record of successful funding applications and bid writing as well as professional practice research and publications is an advantage.
You will have achieved FHEA or be working towards this as well as having a good understanding of QA processes in HE and have experience of leading academic programmes and/or a team in a HE environment.
You will have a clear commitment to student centred teaching and learning environment, as well as being a supportive team player who is flexible and adaptive with a positive approach to change.
Additional Information
You will be required to, at times, work unsociable hours, eg: twilight teaching and some Saturday teaching for part time postgraduate students, attend Open Day events for prospective candidates, travel to schools for observation visits with some early starts and late returns.
The post holder MUST HAVE an active AMBDA and APC (this is a requirement for our British Dyslexia Association accreditation for the courses) - it is non-negotiable.
