Job overview:
We have an exciting opportunity within the Large Loss Unit for a Unit Manager, to lead a team which handles high value and complex Motor, Casualty, Property and Financial Lines claims across AXA Retail and Commercial Business Lines.
Key responsibilities:
• Ensuring that the team efficiently delivers excellent customer service whilst maintaining accurate estimating and controlling indemnity spend.
• Drive a culture of data-led performance and insight embracing technology
• Lead solicitor/loss adjuster meetings and AXA Large Loss estimating committees.
• Share knowledge and support the development of those in your team and the wider claims community.
• Build excellent working relationships with key stakeholders.
• Provide regular communication with policyholders, their representatives, third parties, underwriting and actuarial/finance colleagues.
• Contribute to creating and driving the strategic progress of the Unit.
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or Supplier Meetings or attending industry events.
This role will require regular travel which could include overnight stays and work outside of normal hours.
Working hours & shift pattern:
You'll work full time, 35 hours per week over 5 days.
Your skills & experience:
• Previous experience of leading a team.
• Experience of handling high value and complex claims across various classes (preferred).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
• Motivational leader, comfortable with change, who demonstrates empathy and adaptability to drive effective outcomes.
• Experience of working collaboratively with different interest groups.
• Strong prioritisation and time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Educated to A-Level or degree standard or have an equivalent professional qualification (ACII/FCII/CILA).
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
