At an exciting time of development and expansion for the company, our Store Construction department is at the forefront of ensuring the infrastructure is in place to facilitate our ambitious plans. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and hard-working Junior Design Manager to join the Store Construction Design Team in our Head Office.

**Please note as per Lidl internal structures your job title will be Junior Consultant**

What you'll do

  • Be part of the design team responsible for creating the GB Corporate Building Specifications, liaising with internal stakeholders and our external Design Consultants.
  • Support tendering and negotiating of framework agreements for key national suppliers
  • Managing ad-hoc project plans, budgets and deadlines
  • Reporting on the progress of projects to the Senior team
  • Implementing quality control and operational procedures to achieve high quality standards across all construction sites
  • Serving as point of contact for regional construction and property teams to support achievement of store construction targets
  • Managing relationships with external companies, consultants, and support in conducting regular reviews of competence and compliance
  • Ensuring compliance with our corporate specification and internal procedures
  • Managing a green building certification process for the store portfolio across the UK

What you'll need

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in either Architecture, Civil Engineering, Design Management
  • Strong ability to review and understand detailed design information, with an excellent eye for detail whilst managing change
  • PC literate with strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Highly organised with a pragmatic and analytical approach
  • A strong multi-tasker with the ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines
  • A good communicator who can communicate confidently with people at all levels of the business
  • Sound commercial knowledge
  • A team player who is capable of performing tasks independently using their own initiative
  • Hold a full driving licence
