Job overview:

We're seeking an experienced Internal Account Manager to oversee a key panel of brokers aligned to the National Trading Centre (NTC), driving profitable growth and maximizing income through strategic relationship management. This role involves managing broker relationships, delivering sales targets, and implementing initiatives to optimise profitability. You will be the key interface for broker engagement, responsible for developing, reviewing, and expanding the broker panel to support our business objectives.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage a panel of broker accounts with GWP between £100k - £400k, ensuring strong relationships and high performance.
• Act as the primary interface for broker relationships within the National Trading Centre, fostering trust and collaboration.
• Deliver the NTC proposition to broker panel accounts, aligning activities with business growth targets.
• Conduct regular reviews of broker strategic development plans and deliver updates with NTC senior management and regional teams.
• Plan, forecast, and manage the broker panel to meet sales, profitability, and growth targets.
• Lead the delivery of sales campaigns across brokers, ensuring KPIs and campaign targets are achieved.
• Conduct profit reviews to identify improvement opportunities and lead discussions with brokers to optimise profitability.
• Monitor progress of initiatives and take remedial action to ensure targets are met and sustained.

Work arrangements:

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.

Your skills & experience:

• Manage 25-35 key external broker relationships, each with GWP over £100k.
• ACII qualification or equivalent (preferable), with a strong understanding of underwriting and risk management principles.
• Degree level education or equivalent (preferable).
• Strong product knowledge across Property Owners, Commercial SME, and Mid-Corporate business.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills-especially at senior levels.
• Proven sales, negotiation, and business development experience within insurance or financial services.
• Strong understanding of business profitability, pipeline management, and account planning.
• Highly motivated, results-driven, and capable of working effectively across functions and within a team environment.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
