Strategy Manager, Strategic Engagement
Aon is recruiting for a Strategy Manager to join Aon's Strategic engagement team in Inpoint (London, UK). This role can either be a hybrid or office-based role.
This is a strategic relationship focused role where you will have responsibility for partnering with Aon's insurance carrier clients to develop relationships and ensuring success of their strategic objectives. This role will suit someone who is relationship focused with a background in the commercial (re)insurance industry.

What the day will look like
- Acts as trusted advisor and meets client needs by leading teams to problem solve with distinctive solutions that challenge thinking and delivers demonstrable value.
- Uses analytical skills and insights to simplify complex issues and interdependencies and articulates a compelling justification for action. Develops and delivers high impact presentations of insights and recommendations to support client decision-making.
- Understands and articulates key Aon business strategies, initiatives and capabilities and helps clients to navigate the opportunities that these present. Actively develops a network of multi-disciplinary contacts across Aon.
- Monitors new developments in the industry and their impact on Aon and Aon's clients.
- Engages in open and compelling conversations with clients (including senior level stakeholders) to understand and uncover real needs, challenge thinking appropriately and build strategic relationships.
- Leads in the development of new business opportunities and driving efficient and effective business practices.

You will be involved in shaping market entry options, international growth planning, distribution strategy and operational improvement initiatives across Property & Casualty Insurance, Reinsurance, Health & Benefits and Life business.
This is a high-profile strategic engagement role, and one where the role holder would be expected to establish themselves as a trusted advisor to c-level stakeholders within Insurers across the UK and Europe, working in partnership with leaders across our organisation.
About you
- You are entrepreneurial and have experience in the insurance industry, or business development roles within a financial services or consulting environment
- You have proven relationship management skills and evidence of building positive relationships both internally and externally
- You have experience in a commercial insurance either broking, underwriting or strategy
- People skills, persuasion, negotiation, diplomacy, able to work within mixed and virtual teams, able to forge links and build networks with different Aon teams
- You have excellent research and presentation skills with the ability to influence decisions at all levels
- You are comfortable using sales methodologies to open new opportunities i.e. the Challenger Sales Model
- You have analytical capability - with focus and high attention to detail comfortable to undertake or instruct the organisation, analysis and interpretation of structured and unstructured data and information to be used for decision-making
- You have the ability to interpret data, seeking trends and translating this into valued insights for the business and our clients.
- You have a consistent record of delivering results with the ability to follow through on actions and supervise them to closure.
- You are self-reliant and a self-starter who thinks around problems, creatively and resourcefully, to open new opportunities prioritise and work under pressure
