HR Business Partner

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join ourgrowing HR team as a HR Business Partner (HRBP) on a permanent basis due to thegrowth and development of the team.

We're looking for an individual with proven experienceas a HR Business Partner and a strong background in HR Business Partnering.

In this role as HRBP, you'll work in close partnershipwith our business services leaders to ensure Departments implement theirstrategic people plan and manage their people in a way that meets the currentand future needs of the business. Our team is on a very exciting journey at themoment, working on lots of interesting strategic priorities and transformationprojects.

This position will be based in our Bristol office, withthe flexibility to embrace hybrid working and some travel between our other UKoffices needed as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with key stakeholders, you will provide strategic as well as operational HR guidance and support to our Business Services departments across three UK locations. Your focus is on improving the performance of the Departments through its people and acting on HR initiatives aligned to the overall OC strategy.
  • In partnership with Chiefs and Heads of Department, you will support the department's people plan and influence and contribute to change projects across the business areas. You'll keep progress under review and measure impact in terms of business outcomes.
  • You'll coach business leaders and managers in HR matters and managing change effectively.
  • You'll oversee talent management and succession planning for your business areas, focusing on preparing and retaining talent for future positions.
  • You'll ensure diversity and inclusion (D&I) is a central part of the department's people plan and that business leaders look at decisions through a D&I lens.
  • You'll advise on organisational design as needed, keeping this regularly under review and using insight to influence decision making about people, promotions and recruitment throughout the year and during the budgeting process.
  • You'll support business leaders to continually monitor and improve employee engagement and wellbeing, ensuring feedback is listened to and acted upon so that our culture remains a competitive advantage.
  • You'll use data driven insights to drive the people agenda and influence decision making. You'll also use your extensive HR knowledge to bring an external perspective to our HR offering.
  • You'll work with colleagues in People Development to ensure that both general and management capabilities are being developed.
  • You will take the lead on complex or sensitive employee relations matters as required, serving as an escalation point for the HR Adviser on less complex cases and generally supervising the HR Adviser's workload.
  • You may lead on strategic projects within the HR function for the development of the overall Core HR team.
  • You'll influence reward decisions in Business Services and Business Support, driving fairness and consistency, and take the lead on annual pay review and bonus nominations.
  • You'll coach the HR Business Services team to build their capability while also acting as an escalation point for the HR Adviser as necessary.
  • You'll work with colleagues in recruitment to ensure we attract the best talent and managers have the right recruitment and selection skills for this.

What we're looking for
You will be a driven andenthusiastic individual with proven experience as a HR Business Partner and astrong background in HR Business Partnering.
Also required:

  • Proven ability to demonstrate confidence in engaging with a client group to help them drive their business forward with pragmatic, business focussed, commercial advice.
  • Demonstrably strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, with the confidence to interact with people at all levels.
  • Experience of effectively coaching others.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
  • Work well both as part of a team and independently.
  • Professional and flexible in approach, able to adapt to changing requirements and circumstances.
  • Ability to think strategically, remaining mindful of OC's strategy and considering big picture implications.
  • Ability to forge strong professional working relationships with internal clients.
  • Ability to manage expectations amongst internal clients whilst maintaining credibility and professionalism.
