Accountabilities

Accountabilities:

Leadership Development

  • Develop and align a comprehensive Leadership strategy that builds and fosters a strong culture of excellence at the Economist Group.
  • Provide coaching to leaders on assessment results, implementation of development plans, and leadership development skills and competencies
  • Assessing, recommending, creating, and implementing leadership development processes, tools, resources, and solutions and/or organisation development interventions based on strategic or tactical business plans
  • Utilising expert facilitation skills in conducting leadership and professional development programs for mid to senior levels across the organisation
  • Delivering leadership development courses and workshops in alignment with the organisation's goals
  • Collaborating with internal and external subject matter / content experts, business partners and vendors to create and design new content, tools and learning solutions to meet the organisation's leadership capabilities needs

Strategy and Talent Centre of Expertise Leadership

  • Develop and continuously evolve an enterprise global talent strategy and translate it into strategic objectives and long-term plans that align fully with the company strategy.
  • Lead, manage, coach, develop and build capability within the Global Talent Centre of Expertise and all reporting lines
  • Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance on all aspects of talent attraction, retention and development to the Senior HR Leadership team and the Senior Executive team
  • Champion the continuous improvement and development of existing processes and programs including measurement to quantify value to the business.

Talent and Succession

  • Partner with business leaders and HRBP's to facilitate the annual global enterprise talent review and succession planning processes, with a focus on building depth of talent pipelines
  • Consult directly with the senior leadership team to ensure critical roles of the organisation are identified and that robust succession plans are in place for these roles.
  • Lead the robust analysis of the global talent data, providing insight, recommendation and actionable plans including talent risk management plans to Senior leadership teams.
  • Develop talent through combinations of assignments, experiences, training and coaching design for high-potential and executive development initiatives to meet emerging needs in the organisation

Learning and Capability Building

  • Champion and drive a global approach to Learning and Development (L&D) ensuring the design, delivery and deployment of a comprehensive suite of programs and initiatives that improve business performance and build individual capability
  • Shape and execute a robust leadership development framework, ensuring we can build a pipeline of leaders at all levels from within the organisation
  • Drive the visibility and high adoption of existing L&D initiatives and platforms to their full potential. At the same time, identify and leverage opportunities to expand the range of L&D initiatives further and continue to develop a learning culture at scale
  • Coach and assist enterprise leaders and staff in the areas of professional development, leadership development and change management
  • Facilitate learning & development programs for senior leadership as needed.

Experience, skills and professional attributes

Experience and skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organisational Development or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required.
  • 10+ years progressive talent, strategic workforce planning and organisational effectiveness experience required.
  • 15+ years in a global leadership role (direct/indirect), with a proven track record of working up, down and across a complex matrix structure and aligning stakeholders to a common goal
  • Proven experience as a strong partner, adviser and collaborator. Is able to develop trusting relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders to gain support, influence, eliminate barriers and achieve results.
  • Balances strategic shaping with hands-on execution, often working to tight timelines without compromising on quality of service
  • Demonstrates sound rational and judgement, drawing on data, insights and varied perspectives to reach decisions quickly and with confidence
  • Track record of creative problem solving, being comfortable with ambiguity and providing direction and steer to others
  • A champion for change and continuous improvement
  • Excellent business acumen; focused on how HR programs, processes and tools accelerate business results. Balances qualitative and quantitative measures.
