What is the opportunity
This is a Senior Leadership role which will support the BOI UK operating model focusing on niche markets and key solutions, and serving customers brilliantly through agile and nimble processes and systems, of which operational resilience is a key enabler of the strategy.
In this role you will:
- Ownership of and responsibility for managing the UK BCM framework, implement/assure ongoing compliance with UK/Group Business Continuity Policy, through effective oversight of BOI UKs Business Continuity Management requirements
- Ownership of and responsibility for assessing and reporting on BCM risk, ensuring the UK Board and Exec are fully appraised of risks and that mitigation strategies are developed and implemented.
- Ownership of and responsibility for managing critical incident and crisis response from identification through to review and learn, in line with the industry best practise.
- Acting as a key stakeholder/SME across BOI UK, to ensure business continuity risk is considered and managed throughout infrastructure and business change programmes.
- Ownership of and responsibility for managing the implementation of Operational Resilience, the framework, implement/assure ongoing compliance with Operational Resilience Policy, through effective oversight of BOI UKs operational resilience requirements, and for liaising with the relevant Regulator on operational resilience.
- Ownership of and responsibility for managing the implementation of Operational continuity in resolution, implement/assure ongoing compliance with Operational Continuity in Resolution Policy, through effective oversight of BOI UKs operational continuity in resolution requirements.
- Responsible for liaising with the relevant Regulator on the Operational Continuity in Resolution Agendas for BOI (UK) plc and in particular the robustness and performance of the OCIR data on Fusion which is a critical element of the OCIR agenda.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders/partners to ensure that there is a strong level of engagement and alignment between BCM/OCIR and Business Units around the Group, ensuring that UK specific requirements are understood, and learnings shared.
- Provide guidance, direction and leadership on development and management of Operational Resilience, Business Continuity, Crisis Management and Recovery Plans, including training and competency requirements for colleagues.
- Framework / processes building on the OCIR data captured in Fusion in support of BCM,
- Non-Financial Risk wider process mapping for process improvement and documentation of end to end Important Business Services.
- Creates a working environment where the Group's Purpose and Values are at the centre of ways of working and day to day activities.
- As a member of the Operations Senior Leadership Team, accountable for ensuring high levels of engagement in the Operational Resilience Team and across the Operations function - creating a culture that is safe and open and values diversity and inclusion.

Desire to be a knowledge custodian and expert in the Banks end to end processes, controls and how they are delivered
Negotiation skills in order to attain staff engagement for changes to processes owned by business areas designated in need of improvement
Expert level understanding of operational risk management
Working and managing data and information exchanges with regulatory supervisors
Certified Business Continuity professional

Within UK Operations, Operational Resilience is a key team ensuring effectiveness through managing the associated risks to our operational delivery stability of the Bank and being able to recover rapidly from disruption. As a result the role is the first line operational resilience (including business continuity, crisis management and OCIR) team and a key pillar in the UK elements of the Group's Fit for the Future programme. Operational resilience is measured through the data we collect and analyse so future improvements can continuously be implemented as part of our resilience journey
