We're looking for a ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) Head of Group Reporting and Financial Control. Here you will lead and manage the financial control function within a listed international business. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting, providing strategic oversight and direction for financial processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards across multiple jurisdictions including UK, Malta, Gibraltar, Ireland, Poland, Romania and Israel.
You will also manage the relationship with the external auditors and the preparation of the Group consolidated financial statements. You will lead a team of qualified and non-qualified accountants.
What you will be doing:
- Financial Reporting - Leading the preparation of consolidated financial statements for the group in accordance with IFRS and managing/owning the external audit processes and relationships. You'll also be accountable for timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packs
- Overseeing technical accounting matters and providing guidance across the group and preparing technical accounting memorandums on key accounting judgements as well as new or changing standards for the Audit Committee and the external auditors
- Overseeing the preparation of the monthly consolidated financial information of the Group for internal reporting purposes and being accountable for the preparation and audit of statutory company financial statements across the jurisdictions the Group operates in, in-line with local regulatory requirements
- Financial Control - Ensuring the financial control framework is robust and fit-for-purpose across all jurisdictions, driving continuous improvements in financial reporting and financial control processes
- Ownership and maintenance of the accounting policies for the Group and responsible to embed these policies within the wider finance team including the SSC whilst overseeing the design and implementation of financial controls across the group, ensuring robust risk management practices through collaboration with the internal audit team
- Strategic leadership - Partnering with senior leaders across the Group providing financial insights to enable faster business decisions and stay up to date with evolving financial regulations, laws, and best practices, ensuring the business adheres to all relevant legislation
- Working alongside the finance shared service centre and the wider finance team to ensure a culture of control, compliance and accountability and acting as a key point of contact to senior management and external stakeholders including external auditors and regulators on financial control matters.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing them with accurate, timely, and meaningful financial information.
- Team Management - Leading and developing a high-performing team of 15 across 7 locations through reporting and control functions. Fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration and providing coaching and mentorship to direct reports.
Who we are looking for:
We are committed to responsible gambling, and we are looking for people who can support our ethos. To apply to this post, you will have:
- Significant experience in leading teams in a financial control function within a large, complex, international organisation, ideally within an international listed business. You'll have previous leadership in finance transformation and system implementation
- Experience in managing the preparation of Group consolidated financial statements and managing an international and complex external audit
- Technical accounting expertise (IFRS essential), and other relevant regulations (listing rules, FRC, the Companies Act). You'll be ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Experience in managing risk and internal controls across complex business structures with proven ability to drive improvements in financial process. Knowledge of 'Oracle' is preferable.
