As a Head of Commercial Operations, you will serve as a trusted strategic business partner to the Head of Operations. Your day-to-day involves leading a team of Commercial Project and Contract Managers and Project Accountants and ensuring seamless commercial execution for the Substations and FACTs project portfolio in UK. This role demands strong leadership in driving high performance, financial and commercial expertise, and strategic stakeholder management capabilities.
You should possess self-motivation, critical thinking, and resourcefulness to independently achieve goals, while also being adept at collaborating within cross functional teams. Additionally, you must demonstrate flexibility to adapt and excel in a fast-paced environment with dynamic, evolving demands.
How You'll Make an Impact
Your main responsibilities include:
- Being responsible for and leading the financial, commercial and contractual aspects of project management, ensuring successful execution and delivery of Substations and FACTs projects in GB.
- Enhancing financial transparency and accuracy in project financial reporting and forecasting (responsible for Project Revenue, Profit, FCF and Balance Sheet).
- Establishing and driving measures for competency management, talent development, and succession planning within the team.
- Developing strategic relationships with our customers, JV partners and other external and internal stakeholders.
- Leading digitalisation initiatives and fostering digital skills within the team to optimise efficiencies in commercial and contractual project management.
- Leading and participating in cross functional improvement projects and initiatives to drive solutions aligned with business requirements.
- Creating robust procedures in commercial project management to guarantee that financial and commercial project documentation and records are aligned with external audit and internal controls requirements.
- Introducing innovative strategies to drive cost efficiencies, streamline processes, and advance digitalization in day-to-day operations.
- Advocating for a strong EHS approach and a Zero Harm culture.
- Encouraging an environment that values inclusivity and diversity, develops talent, and emphasizes the development of forward-thinking skills to promote dedication and collaboration!
What You Bring
- Demonstrated operational leadership expertise (minimum 5 years) within a Finance and Commercial capacity for a multinational organisation.
- Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with a variety of Construction and Engineering Forms of Contracts: e.g. NEC, FIDIC and MF/1.
- Proficient in financial controlling, project accounting (IFRS), and Siemens Energy FRGs.
- Strategic thinker with a track record in organizational transformation and change management.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and reporting requirements effectively.
- Outstanding presentation, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Proven experience in team leadership and adept stakeholder management
