Role Overview
The Global MANEX Manager - Asset Reliability at Diageo is responsible for the strategic implementation and continuous improvement of Asset Care Reliability globally. This leadership role drives operational excellence across all categories, collaborating with senior stakeholders and site leadership teams to align and deliver Asset Care Reliability strategies. The role plays a crucial part in driving manufacturing performance improvements and fostering innovation through advanced technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Integration Across Categories:
- Engage with Category Heads and site leadership teams to ensure effective implementation and delivery of Asset Care Reliability strategies.
- Align operational strategies with global manufacturing excellence objectives.
Collaborative Leadership and Influence:
- Advocate for the integration of advanced manufacturing practices and digital innovations within all categories.
- Work cross-functionally to align strategies, driving significant improvements in performance metrics and operational agility.
Strategy, Standards, and Processes:
- Lead the development and implementation of the Asset Care Reliability Strategy across the entire manufacturing organization.
- Establish robust standards and processes, influencing senior stakeholders to adapt the strategy within each market and category.
Performance Measurement:
- Design, measure, and maintain a global set of KPIs to drive performance improvements in Asset Care Reliability.
- Support senior leadership in their efforts to improve Asset Care performance across markets.
Reliability Engineering & Maintenance Excellence:
- Oversee the implementation of reliability strategies (predictive, preventive, corrective) across all markets and categories.
- Ensure that local teams have the tools and methodologies to achieve operational excellence.
- Maximize asset lifecycle performance, ensuring plants operate safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
Leveraging Data Analytics:
- Use global data analytics to benchmark performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Identify and mitigate common failure modes across multiple sites through advanced Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) strategies.
Innovation and Emerging Technologies:
- Champion the integration of emerging technologies (IoT, AI, predictive maintenance tools) to enhance predictive capabilities and reliability performance.
- Support digital transformation initiatives to improve asset performance and ensure value realization through digital tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Manex Category leaders and Centres of Excellence to ensure a cohesive approach to manufacturing excellence
Experience, Skills & Capabilities Required
- Asset Care /Engineering Leadership: Strong Asset Care Leader with extensive experience in leading Asset Care on large manufacturing site(s).
- MMS, IWS or TPM Practice Experience: Deep expertise in Asset Care and experience with Manufacturing Management Systems (MMS), Integrated Work System (IWS) or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) with a proven track record in a coaching role. Experience should include implementing these methodologies to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness, driving substantial improvements in manufacturing processes.
- Leadership and Influence: Exceptional leadership skills with experience acting as both an internal and external consultant. Ability to influence change and drive MANEX principles across different levels of the organization and with external partners. Skilled in negotiating, persuading, and building consensus among diverse stakeholder groups.
- Business Acumen: Strong business acumen with a clear understanding of how manufacturing excellence impacts service delivery, cost management, cash flow optimization, sustainability initiatives, and morale. Ability to align manufacturing strategies with these key business deliverables to enhance overall business performance.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Cross-Functional Experience: Broad experience beyond traditional manufacturing roles, including innovation, quality control, supply chain management, and product development. Ability to integrate manufacturing excellence with these functions to drive a holistic improvement in business operations.
- Digital Transformation Skills: Proficiency in leading digital transformation initiatives within manufacturing settings. Experience with deploying digital tools and platforms that enhance operational transparency, improve data-driven decision-making, and foster an environment of continuous technological advancement.
