Financial Accountant (Intercompany)

Osborne Clarke are looking to add to their Finance team with an exciting new Intercompany Accountant opportunity in our Bristol office.

This role will involve the central management and reconciliation of the intercompany billing process between multiple entities within the organisation. You will ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of intercompany accounts while maintaining effective communication across departments and entities.

This is a permanent position offering hybrid working.

The role

The Intercompany Accountant will be responsible for recording transactions, investigating discrepancies, and preparing financial reports related to intercompany activity. You will act as the point of contact for other departments and entities within the organisation regarding intercompany activities, working closely with local and international finance teams to ensure alignment in intercompany accounting practices.

Other key responsibilities include:

Intercompany Transactions: Recording and maintaining all intercompany transactions, ensuring they are accurately reflected in the financial statements. Manage the billing and settlement of intercompany accounts, including chargebacks, expenses, and transfers. Ensure timely and accurate processing of intercompany invoices and payments.

Reconciliations: Reconciling intercompany balances monthly, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly. Review and resolve any variances between intercompany records across entities. Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, focusing on intercompany transactions.

Reporting and Analysis: Preparing monthly intercompany financial reports for internal stakeholders as and when required.

Compliance and Documentation: Maintaining proper documentation for all intercompany agreements and related activities, as required. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary data and reconciliations related to intercompany accounts.

Process Improvement: Identifying and recommending improvements to the intercompany accounting processes and workflows. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate and streamline intercompany procedures.

Maintenance of Charts of Accounts: Maintaining the Global and Local chart of accounts. Establish a process for requesting and approving new global and local codes.

System Set-ups: Liaising with and advise the Financial Reporting Team on system setups to ensure correct masking and bookkeeping entries.

We are looking for

  • A fully/part Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Extensive intercompany accounting experience.
  • Familiarity with multi-currency transactions.
  • Experience with financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities, particularly related to complex reconciliations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
